Established in 1869 by William Deacon, Main Street Iron Works produced engines for steam schooners, specializing in stern wheel engines for river vessels, many of which plied the Alaskan rivers, and was purchased by Fulton Iron Works in 1905, and Keystone Boiler Works was acquired in 1914.
